Russia threatens to cut WADA financing

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has threatened to pull financing to WADA unless their national anti-doping agency - RUSADA - gets its accreditation.

On 18 November 2015, the WADA Foundation Board declared RUSADA non-compliant after an independent panel investigated Russias anti-doping program related to athletics.

- My belief is that if our organization is not restored for another period of time, what's the point of paying?, Mutko said the newspaper Sputnik.

Russia is a large contributor to the WADA budget. Since 2010 the country has paid more than $700,000.
