In a letter to the Government the Norwegian Sports C where they suggest that storing and using prohibited substances becomes illegal.

On October 22, 2012 the Norwegian Confederation of Sports (NIF) replied to a consultation proposal from Health and Care Services (HOD) to criminalize acquisition, possession and use of all substances present on the Norwegian Medicines Agency doping list. The proposal from Health and Care is that the new rules are included in the Medicines Act, and violations are punishable by fines or imprisonment. NIF has heard sports organization, and NIF supports HODs proposal to criminalize the purchase, possession and use of doping except for medical and scientific purposes. - A ban would be consistent with basic values ??of sport in this area, and will reinforce the message that doping does not belong in sport either within or outside organized sport, says president of NIF, Børre Rognlien in a press release. A ban would also have an exaggerated effect on other instruments in a mobilization against doping, both in terms of prevention, treatment and crime fighting. The criminalization will also streamline police work and give a clear signal that the use of doping agents to be combated.
