Greek sprinters found guilty


The two greek sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou has been found guilty of false statements just before the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.

 

The two sprinters claimed they had been involved in a motorcycle accident on the evening before the start of the games. According to AP the judge, Dimitris Lefkos said that the court finds that this accident never occurred. Kenteris and Thanou now faces up to four years in prison. Their coach, Christos Tzekos, can receive a six year prison sentence.
