In cooperation with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited Anti-Doping Laboratories in Cologne and Kreischa, the National Anti-Doping Agency of Germany (NADA) has re-analysed all long-term stored samples from 2014 and 2015. All 339 samples were negative.

The Cologne Anti-Doping Laboratory tested 251 urine samples for Hypoxia-Inducible Factor (HIF) activators, Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs) and several Anabolic Steroids such as Stanozolol and Trenbolone. The stored urine and serum samples from 2014 and 2015 were analysed for the latest metabolites, HIF activators, SARMs, peptides and Erythropoietin (Epo) in the Anti-Doping Laboratory in Kreischa.

The long-term storage of samples is an important part of NADA Germany's testing programme. It makes it possible to initially store samples and analyse them at a later date using new detection methods for doping-relevant substances or methods. This increases the unpredictability of the anti-doping work.
